SYDNEY: Betta Stores Limited (BSL) has revealed its national “Dad’s Day” competition held for Fathers Day 2006, in which consumers entered the draw to win a Ford Falcon XR6 Ute, has become one of its most successful promotions ever, with more than 300,000 entries.

“The success of the National August Ford Dad’s Day promotion is testament to the closeness and strength of BSL’s relationship with Ford Australia,” said BSL chief executive officer, Guy Houghton.

“There is no doubt the competition helped us cut through the usual Fathers’ Day marketing clutter in the retail market, delivering a 10 per cent boost to our already strong national sales during the competition,” he said.

To enter the competition to win the brand new XR6 Ute worth $34,620 plus on-road costs, customers had to make a purchase at any Betta Electrical or Chandlers store nationally.

Houghton claimed the promotion had its most substantial response from customers in the IT and audio visual categories, with over 85 per cent of entries returned.

The Ford Falcon XR6 Ute give-away ranks as one of BSL’s biggest competitions since the Christmas 2005 Boat Giveaway.

“This has been a great achievement and an outstanding competition. I look forward to presenting the XR6 Ute to the winning store when the competition is drawn,” said Houghton.

The draw for the Ford Falcon XR6 Ute will be held Wednesday September 27, 2006, with the winner to be presented with the Ute on October 21, 2006 at the store where the entry form was lodged.
