National small appliance retailer, Shaver Shop, has appointed former Gillette retail manager Cameron Fox to the newly created role of general manager.

Shaver Shop director, Gary Tyquin, told Appliance Retailer the appointment is part of a management expansion that includes the internal promotion of Tamie Hocking to the role of national buyer. Hocking was previously marketing coordinator and takes over from, Scott Bunt (previously of The Good Guys), who has left the group.

Tyquin said the company is in the process of recruiting another buyer who will report to Hocking.

The Shaver Shop operates 38 stores in all states except Tasmania with Tyquin adding that the group is looking seriously at opening a store in Hobart in the future.

He said sales in the first half were strong and the group has just begun distributing Father’s Day catalogues as part of its marketing campaign for the last major promotion event before Christmas.
