SYDNEY: Conair Australia and New Zealand managing director, Wendy Browne, has issued a statement to which explains the reasons behind her intended departure from the industry.

Browne incorporated Conair Australia in May 1995 and commenced trading in November of that year.

Conair Australia claims to be the second strongest hair appliance brand in the local market with its Conair and Vidal Sassoon branded products which are complemented by the Cuisinart food preparation brand and the Weight Watchers scales.

“Wendy Browne is moving on for family and lifestyle reasons,” the statement said.

“It was time to go,” Browne said.

“I am looking froward to a new chapter in my life. Having said that, my decision was made easier by the fact that we now have a very strong senior management team in place, covering all aspects of the business.”

According to the statement, Browne has been asked by the owner of Conair worldwide, Lee Rizutto to stay on until the end of the year, which she has agreed to, keen to see a smooth transition for the company.

Browne has also been asked to oversee the executive search for her replacement.

“This is a great opportunity for someone with drive and vision,” Browne said.

“They will enjoy all the stimulation of this exciting brand and that of our licensed brand VS Sassoon. They will also enjoy strong support from our parent company in the States as well as from staff here. This is a wonderful company to work for and my decision to move on has not been taken lightly.”
