SYDNEY: Oricom International has signed an agreement to distribute Motorola-branded cordless telephones in Australia and New Zealand.

Oricom will initially launch three slim Motorola DECT digital cordless telephones with premium features and styling, including the ME4050-1, ME4052-1 and ME4066-2 models.

“Oricom’s excellent relationships with all channel partners and its highly focused sales team were key factors in the appointment,” said Motorola’s ANZ connected home business development manager. Judy Marriott.

“We are very excited about the launch of Motorola cordless telephones in Australia as we have seen how well the brand has been accepted in the Europe and Asian markets,” said Oricom International managing director, Kevin McDonnell.

“The Motorola brand and the wide-ranging features of the Motorola phones provide a great opportunity for retailers to leverage from Motorola’s success in the mobile phone market.

“The Motorola brand and styling will appeal to consumers who are looking for a stylish premium brand with an element of exclusivity,” he said. 

Oricom plans a restricted distribution strategy through premium channels with Harvey Norman and Myer confirming they will support the launch.
