SYDNEY: Betta Stores Limited audio visual buyer, Gavin Carter, has resigned from his position to join Narta next week as AV category manager.

Carter worked at the BSL offices in Brisbane for 10 years and is expected to move to Sydney in his new role located at the Narta head office in Pyrmont, reporting to national merchandise manager, Michael Jackson.

“Gavin comes to Narta with a great deal of experience and he will fit in well with the team,” Narta International general manager, Craig Mackie told Current.com.au.

“Narta has been looking for a person to work with Michael [Jackson] and the other category managers at Narta and specifically look after the AV category. I am pleased to be able to advise that we have appointed Gavin to fill this position,” said Mackie in a statement distributed to the industry this morning.

”I am sure that you will work well with Gavin and that he will drive the Narta business with your company to the benefit of both,” Mackie said in the statement.

Carter will join other buyers including national whitegoods manager – Bob Stanley, national cooking and seasonal manager – Darren Spencer and national digital technology manager – Leanne Tieu.

Carter’s appointment follows a recent restructure of the BSL marketing team following the departure of its general manager – retail, David Hazell.

Carter was unavailable for comment as his mobile phone number was taken from him and he was asked to leave BSL immediately following his resignation.
