SYDNEY: Publicly-listed online movie rental subscription company, Quickflix, has entered into a distribution agreement with Coles Online to sell the direct delivery service to the supermarket’s online customer base.

In a statement released by the company, Quickflix claims Coles Online represents a quality channel for the promotion of its movie rental subscription service which targets consumers who prefer an alternative to video rental stores.

QuickFlix CEO, Stephen Langsford, estimates the household spend on home entertainment in Australia is more than $2 billion per year across traditional video and DVD rental as well as retail and Pay-TV subscriptions including Foxtel and Austar.

Around 60 per cent of Australia’s 8 million households own DVD players and have internet access.

Quickflix services customers all across Australia from fulfillment centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The Coles Online agreement, follows other distribution deals signed with Optus, ninemsn, Yahoo!7 and Hoyts.
