CHARMHAVEN, NSW: A new 9,000m² Harvey Norman store will be constructed within the Lake Haven Homemaker Centre at Charmhaven on the New South Wales Central Coast, with construction expected to be completed by Easter 2007.

The new store is part of the 23,000m² homemaker centre, which will also contain a Bunnings Warehouse and nine other retailers, forms part of Wyong Council’s retail strategy which has earmarked specific areas in the municipality for future retail development.

The Walker Corporation will oversee up to $80 million worth of developments and redevelopments in the Charmhaven and Wyong regions.

“We are developing a strong presence in the Central Coast’s retail market, working closely with property owners, agents and the councils to create retail amenities for local communities,” said Walker Corporation retail development manager, Chad Walker.

The Lake Haven Homemaker Centre, which will reach a base population of more than 140,000 people, joins the redevelopment of Wyong Plaza as part of the areas redevelopment and will create almost 400 jobs following its opening.

“The development of both centres represents a great solution for retailers seeking to reach the vibrant community of the Central Coast, which is experiencing a resurgence in commercial and retail activity,” said Walker.
