SYDNEY: Shriro Australia has secured an exclusive distribution deal to introduce Europe’s leading iPod accessory brand, Gear4.

Gear4 emerged from the successful UK-based iPod accessory brand – PodGear -which was formed in 2004 by Disruptive Technology Channels with the name change allowing both iPod accessories and other digital consumer technology accessories to be sold under the same name.

“Gear4 is Europe’s number one home-grown iPod accessory brand and we aim to emulate this success within other digital product sectors such as gaming, multimedia and telecommunications,” said Disruptive Technology Channels Australian managing director, Jamie Dudderidge.

“Through our partnership with Shriro, Gear4 offers an established premium brand with a full product range.”

Available across 27 countries worldwide, Gear4 will launch over 40 products locally in June, offering a full spectrum of products for Australian consumers.

“We identified a gap in the Australian market for a brand to offer a full range of consumer technology accessories. As a mature innovator of quality iPod accessories, we are also able to provide quality customer care and high quality product control,” said Dudderidge.

Gear4 products include the HouseParty II table-top speaker (RRP $149.95) with iPod dock and remote operation, as well as the X-Clip range of products featuring hard plastic cases with a slide-on feature for products such as docking stations or FM transmitters.

Shriro Australia recently announced an exclusive distribution deal to sell Skullcandy headphones marketed to Generation Y consumers aged under 30 years.
