Bosch promotes induction through Narta and Harvey Norman

MELBOURNE: BSH Appliances has commenced a month-long promotion to increase the sales of its Bosch branded induction cooktops through Harvey Norman and Narta.

The consumer promotion, which commenced on 24 May and finishes on 30 June, will offer a free set of Baccarat magnetised saucepans and frypans worth $399 with the sale every Bosch induction cooktop.

Induction cooking uses an electromagnetic field to heat the frypan or saucepan directly without significantly increasing the temperature of the cooktop which remains cool enough to touch.

BSH Appliances managing director, Paul Ravlich, beleves the advantages of induction cooking should be used by retailers to sell the technology to consumers.

“As a way to cook, you can’t beat it,” Ravlich said.

“Australia was one of the last developed countries to sell induction cooktops. We have been selling it in New Zealand
since the last 1990s and at good margins. Once Australia cottons on to it and realises its potential, I would expect it to overtake the penetration in New Zealand very quickly,” he said.

BSH is one of three major global manufacturers of induction cooktops which supplies its own cooking brands including Bosch, Gaggenau, Neff, Siemens as well as some OEM customers.
