SYDNEY: Panasonic is offering a variety of consumer promotions in partnership with the Wallabies and Billabong to support its new Viera plasma and LCD TV range launched last week.

Between 26 April and 30 June 2006, every consumer who purchases a Viera plasma or LCD will automatically win a prize pack of their choice from either Billabong or the Wallabies, which can be claimed from Panasonic by completing and posting an application form. The Wallabies prize pack is valued at $130 and includes a Wallabies backpack, cap and rugby ball, while the Billabong pack (valued at $149) contains a cap, beach towel and bag.

After completing the application form, customers will also go into the draw to win a holiday package, with the choice of a VIP tour to New Zealand to see the Wallabies take on the All Blacks in Auckland for the Bledisloe Cup this August, or a trip to Tahiti – the home of the Billabong Pro surfing contest. Both packages include accomodation, flights and a bonus Lumix TZ1 digital still camera valued at RRP $659.

Panasonic product marketing manager, CTV/STB, Hitesh Ojha, said the promotion will reinforce the association of Panasonic flat panel TV products and major sporting events.

“Panasonic plasmas are built for speed. The exciting line-up of major sporting events, such as motor racing, rugby union, soccer and AFL will look even sharper and more realistic on a Panasonic Viera plasma TV,” he said.

The marketing campaign coincided with the launch of the new Viera range last week, which features LCD models from 23-inches to 32-inches and plasmas from 42-inches to 50-inches. The range has benefitted from a design refresh and technological enhancements to the company’s black box image processing technologies.

Panasonic has also launched a Viera Home Cinema cash back promotion offering consumers up to $500 credit on a Viera branded VISA debit card when they purchase a Viera Home Cinema package including a Viera plasma, DVD recorder or selected Panasonic home theatre system. The promotion is available now and will run until 30 June, with applications closing 28 June.
