MELBOURNE: Shaver Shop’s Highpoint store is the major sponsor of World’s Greatest Shave to Care and Cure and is encouraging locals to get involved and shave or colour their hair to help raise $8.5million (nationally) for leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorder patients and their families.

Taking place from 4-6 May, World’s Greatest Shave is one of Australia’s biggest fundraising events with around 100,000 Australians expected to participate.

Shaver Shop Highpoint is hosting a public shave event on Saturday May 6th at 12:00pm on Highpoint’s level one centre stage for people who want to come along and shave or colour their hair for World’s Greatest Shave.

Leukaemias, lymphomas and myeloma are devastating blood cancers. Around 60 per cent of adults and 20 per cent of children don’t survive a leukaemia diagnosis, and lymphoma is now the sixth most common cancer in Australia.

The Leukaemia Foundation improves patients’ quality of life through personalised and practical care. This includes providing a ‘home away from home’ near major treatment centres, counselling, educational programs, transport to and from hospital and practical assistance free of charge.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.
