Kitchen appliances and home electronics are heading the 2016 Christmas shopping list, according to The National Retail Association’s (NRA) chief executive Trevor Evans. He said every state and territory is expected to enjoy a lift in Christmas spending with the country’s most populous state, NSW, tipped to spend the most.
Harvey Ireland breaks out the champagne
Harvey Norman Ireland CEO, Blaine Callard has hosted about 160 of its senior staff, in a celebration of a return to profitability for the company. According to The IrishTimes, he bought out a balthazar of champagne – (around 12l) which sat in a glass case in Harvey Norman’s north Dublin head office. The sign next to it read: “Break glass in case of profit. To be opened after one quarter of consolidated net profit.”

Photo Continental which has traded as a specialist photo retailer for almost seven decades closed the doors of its Mt Gravatt, Brisbane store last week. The company announced the news to its customers on its Facebook Page on September 14.
