Rinnai Symmetry in-built gas log effect space heaters (model numbers RDV3610ETR and RDV3611ETR) have been recalled. The heaters were available from 1 March 2010 to 11 May 2017 at gas appliance retailers.
A combination of rare operational circumstances may cause delayed ignition due to low gas pressure. This may cause the mesh-guard to separate from the front of the heater or the glass front to break, posing a risk of injury.
Consumers are asked to visit the dedicated website www.symmetryservice.com.au or call 1800 043 214. Rinnai will arrange an authorised service technician to provide a free in-home service. Consumers are advised not to operate the heater until the service is performed.
