And new camera system.

The Xperia XZ Premium smartphone showcases Sony’s new Motion Eye camera system and the world’s first 4K HDR display. This allows users to enjoy a selection of 4K HDR content from Amazon Prime Video for the first time on mobile. Select Amazon Originals series can be streamed or downloaded to watch whenever and wherever.

The Motion Eye camera provides 960fps super slow motion video capture and playback, four times slower than any other smartphone. The new 19MP high resolution sensor has 19% larger pixels to capture more light and provides exceptional detail and sharp images even in low-light and backlit conditions. Additional improvements have been made inside Motion Eye to the Bionz for mobile processing engine, meaning it detects moving objects more precisely.

Sony Mobile Oceania managing director, John Featherstone said, “We have continued to evolve and transform our smartphone portfolio, with an unwavering focus on delivering the most advanced technology in elegantly designed products. Whether it is a memory-stacked camera system capable of super slow motion capture or the world’s first 4K HDR smartphone display, we’re delivering experiences that connect with users in emotional and meaningful ways like never before.”

The Xperia XZ Premium learns how the phone is used by the user, adapts and makes recommendations for a smart and personalised experience. The battery is maximised with Smart Stamina, which uses the Xperia learning engine to accurately estimate how long the battery will last based on normal usage. It also warns the user if it detects that they are going to run out of power later that day and prompts them to activate Stamina mode.

It is water resistant, dust-proof, and has increased durability with reinforced Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of the handset.
