Rebrands Electro Seconds and appoints new GM

The Winning Group has rebranded its clearance outlet offering from Electro Seconds to Home Clearance in a move which will see customers gain access to a broader range of products for the home, including bedding and furniture.

CEO John Winning said the new direction for the company caters to the growing market of consumers who want high quality products from reputable brands, at discounted prices. “Electro Seconds has always been considered our bargain offering, however rebranding and expanding into new product categories will enhance this proposition, by enabling a one stop shop for all of our customers’ major household needs.

“Australians take a lot of pride in their homes and with property prices continuing to climb, there’s a growing segment of Australians, especially renters and first home buyers, who are looking to purchase seconds or clearance stock when shopping for their home,” he said.

Winning Group’s clearance offering experienced year-on-year growth of 467% in FY16 following the acquisition of Electro Seconds in April 2015.

The group has also appointed Adam Jones (pictured) as Home Clearance general manager. Jones brings more than a decade of retail experience to his new role and previously held positions with Metcash and Dick Smith, and most recently The Co-op where he was general manager,  merchandise, marketing and digital.

John Winning said Electro Seconds has gone from strength to strength since joining Winning Group’s stable of brands and with deep roots in retail, Jones’s appointment will prove invaluable for the new Home Clearance brand.
