After receiving Good Design Award.

Smeg’s retro-style blender has been awarded the international Red Dot Design Award 2016.

The blender can be used to create frozen cocktails using the unique ice crush function to reduce large cubes to a cocktail crush and then add the other ingredients. The Smoothie function will sense the consistency of the contents and adjust speed accordingly, creating a smooth, perfectly mixed cocktail. The soft start feature will ensure no splatters, as well as even blending and mixing.

Commenting on the achievement, Smeg head of brand, Tamara Buchanan said, “The Red Dot Design Award, now in its 66th year, is an internationally recognised seal of quality.  Only the very best products receive this award and the Smeg blender was recognised for its innovation, functionality and outstanding design. Smeg is justifiably proud of the achievement, especially as it follows on from the international Good Design Award the blender received from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of architecture and design.”

Smeg small domestic appliances, including the kettle, stand mixer, toasters and blender, are available nationally from David Jones, Myer and Harvey Norman. They are available in a choice of pastel green, pastel blue, pastel pink, red, panna, black and silver.
