Samsung has resolved – reworked, exchanged or refunded – 81.63% of its washing machines subject to the recall initiated in April 2013, at October 19, 2016.

Samsung continues to encourage customers to check the model details of their top loader washing machine to determine if their model is impacted by the product safety recall.

The affected model numbers are: SW75V9WIP/XSA, SW65V9WIP/XSA, SW70SPWIP/XSA, SW80SPWIP/XSA, WA85GWGIP/XSA, WA85GWWIP/XSA.

Samsung urges consumers who may be impacted by the recall to visit its dedicated website www.samsung.com/au/washingmachinerecall or call its dedicated customer service line Toll-Free product safety hotline on 1800 239 655.

A Samsung spokesperson told Appliance Retailer, “The safety of our customers is our first priority. We remain committed to finding every possible top loader washing machine impacted by this recall.

“Of the top loader washing machines affected, Samsung Australia has accounted for more than 81 per cent of the units, which exceeds the average Australian recall result of 56 per cent1 of product return.

“However, Samsung Australia continues to urge customers to check if their top loader washing machine is affected by the top loader recall that was initiated in April 2013.
