Donates appliances to raise funds.

Last week, Sydney accounting firm William Buck held its annual Chefs Challenge: an event that sees a number of the firm’s managing partners put their culinary skills to the test. Guests have the opportunity to taste a range of dishes created from the firm’s favourite family recipes.

The DeLonghi Group in Australia, including Kenwood and Braun Household, have been loyal supporters of the event since its second year, donating a range of kitchen products for door prizes and the silent auction, which helps to raise funds for Souths Cares’ Healthy Eating program and Ellavation Foundation.

De’Longhi general manager of sales and marketing, Tom Mitchell said, “Food brings friends and family together. It’s at the very heart of what we do at Delonghi and Kenwood, so it was only natural that we lend our support to the Chefs Challenge and we’re honoured to be able to do that that year after year.”

The Chefs Challenge event has also hosted some of Australia’s big name chefs who have offered their time and support to the accounting firm’s budding chefs. Kenwood ambassador and executive pastry chef at Shangri-La Sydney, Anna Polyviou, has been a special guest for two consecutive years.

This year, guests were invited to have some fun beyond just enjoying a selection of Anna’s desserts, with some taking part in Anna’s famous and interactive dessert, ‘Anna’s Mess’. The dessert takes 75 meticulous steps, nine elements and an eight page recipe to create the perfect final product. The twist: the only way to enjoy it is to drop it on the table to create a marvellous and fun mess.

The annual event, now in its seventh year, was created through managing director, Nikolas Hatzistergos’ and director tax services, Greg Travers’, mutual love of food, fun, and a desire to stay engaged in the community.
