As Season 2 of Tales by Light rolls out

Immersive storytelling came to the fore at a Canon Australia event in Sydney.  The occasion coincided with the launch of Series 2 of Tales by Light photography adventure series that premieres on the National Geographic Channel on October 25.

The evening was hosted by journalist Ray Martin who interviewed the photographers and producer of the series that investigates issues that affect people and communities around the world.

Canon director of consumer imaging and executive producer, Jason McLean, said Series 1 showed there was a strong appetite for authentic, home-grown content. “With Season 2 we have tried to maximise the audience value through the longer format aimed at challenging perceptions and sparking conversations on the world beyond our immediate experience.”  He told AR it was a perfect example of “end-to-end storytelling. It shows how a company can go from selling products to making product.” The new series was shot as a 4K cinematographic experience with a live documentary feel. “Visual storytelling is so much a part of our lifestyle now and this season is unique in taking the viewer on the journey with the photographers and allowing us to see through their eyes,” McLean said.
