Barking mad to be rescued.

Technology solution group Western Digital, that sells products in Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, is using the power of photography to raise awareness for animal rescue groups. The national campaign coincides with the launch of the company’s My Passport Wireless Pro and My Cloud Pro storage devices.

Free photos are being provided by prominent Australian photographers to participating animal rescue groups to assist them in their volunteer work with the goal of finding homes for abandoned dogs and cats. There are 11 photographers and eight animal rescue groups participating with over 200 dogs and cats included in the program. Each photographer will spend a day with an animal rescue group with Western Digital donating A$1000 to each animal shelter to help the cause.

As well as being shown on animal rescue web sites photos will be exhibited in the WD Australia Facebook page, complete with information showcasing the background of each pet, the animal rescue group locations and photographer credentials. The campaign will call on the public to view and share photos to help the animals get adopted.

“By providing shelters with amazing, professionally taken photos that truly capture the personality of each animal, we hope it helps these organisations find loving homes for these pets,” ANZ Content Solutions Business Unit, Western Digital, senior sales manager, Simon Whitford said.

Rescue groups include the Animal Welfare League NSW and QLD, Greyhound Rescue NSW, Fetching Dogs NSW, Best Friends Rescue QLD, Shamroq QLD, Pets’ Haven Shelter VIC and Dogs Refuge Home WA.
