Over 230 Leading Appliances (LA) members, suppliers, staff and guests, attended the annual Leading Appliances National Conference at Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast from 16 to 18 September, 2016.
Held in conjunction with other Leading Edge Group business, Leading Edge Electronics (LEE), the conference theme was ‘Challenge, Change, Opportunity’, in acknowledgement of the ever-challenging and changing retail landscape, and the need to seek new opportunities of strengthening, growing and diversifying businesses.
The conference officially opened on Friday with presentations from group general manager Lee Scott and national group managers Nick Fry (Leading Appliances) and James Kearney (LEE).
Incorporated with over 11 hours of trade show, the conference was emceed by industry stalwart Keith Rowe, and included keynote presentations and addresses from business leaders and industry experts Marty Wilson, Kassandra Lewis and Brett Carew, covering areas such as leadership, teams and group dynamics, work-life balance, communication, staff training, retail practices and workplace satisfaction. The agenda also included member forums and strategy meetings.
Over 45 suppliers attended the conference including major brands EHP, LG, Panasonic, Fisher & Paykel, Changhong, Hisense, Sunbeam, Breville, Spectrum Brands, TCL, Teco, GAF Control, RVM, Brand Developers, Crest, Teac and Jura.
