Miele has debuted its first bagless vacuum cleaner – the Blizzard CX1 – at this year’s IFA trade fair in Berlin, Germany. The market launch is planned for October in Germany and Austria. Local availability has not been announced.
Miele International head of floor care, Matthias Sander commented, “With the Blizzard CX1, Miele has combined the classical approach with the fortes of bagless cleaning more consistently than any other brand”.
Miele executive director and co-proprietor, Dr Markus Miele says the company’s latest vacuum overcomes the inherent disadvantages of bagless vacuums.
“Firstly, we opted for the so-called mono-cyclone approach in which air only passes through one single and considerably larger cyclone. This facilitates very good cleaning performance combined with pleasant operating sound levels and the Blizzard CX1 with its four power settings can be conveniently regulated.
“Secondly, a multi-stage filtration system ensures the thorough removal of fine dust from the air stream so that the container when emptied only contains the coarser dust particles which are less likely to become airborne.
“And, thirdly, the various components have been designed in such a way as to ensure that the container can be completely emptied without risking skin contact with the debris,” he explained.
The disposal of dust from the Blizzard CX1 has been certified by the US American IBR Laboratories, the international market leader in testing filtration performance. The filtration of the Blizzard CX1 with a HEPA AirClean lifetime filter and its suitability for use by allergy sufferers has been endorsed by the medical organisation Allergy UK.
The Blizzard CX1 is available with a choice of two motors: EcoLine (900 watt) and PowerLine (1200 watt).
