Asus hosted media and retailers at Doltone House in Sydney’s CBD on Tuesday evening to unveil its latest ZenBook 3, Transformer 3 Pro and ZenBook Flip UX360 laptops, which will be available from October.
The ZenBook 3 weighs in at just 910 grams and is 11.9mm in thickness, making it Asus’ slimmest and lightest laptop to date. It has been crafted with a new aerospace-grade alumium alloy body which is 50% stronger than the standard alloy in laptops.
The 12.5 inch, full-HD display has full edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 4, framed by an ultra-slim bezel at 7.6mm wide for an 82% screen-to-body ratio. The Zenbook is equipped with four speakers, two above the keyboard and two at the front, featuring Asus SonicMaster Premium technology tuned by audio specialists, Harman Kardon.
The large touchpad features glass coating for smooth touch and supports Window’s 10 multi-touch and multi-gesture inputs. An optional feature of the touchpad is a fingerprint scanner that can be used for biometric security.
It is available in two colours, rose gold and royal blue, both featuring a new golden metallic edge around the lid. There is also a gold Asus badge on the lid to complement the gold backlight of the keyboard. The Asus ZenBook 3 UX390 will be available from Harvey Norman, Bing Lee, Asus Shop and select channel partners from $2,699.
The Transformer 3 Pro is a premium 12.6 inch Windows 10, 2-in-1 device featuring the new Asus pen with 1,024 pressure levels. It has an 8.35mm profile that weighs only 790 grams.
The 2-in-1 device has a stepless kickstand with 155 degree hinge that securely props the display at any angle up to 170 degrees. It supports new Windows 10 features including Cortana with Voice and Windows Hello face recognition login.
The Transformer 3 Pro is available in icicle gold and titanium grey with a charcoal keyboard. It will be available from JB Hi-Fi, the Asus Shop and select channel partners starting at $1,699.
The ZenBook Flip UX360UA features a 360 degree flappable display with a stepless hinge, which has been reduced by 50% in size, for users to switch between a traditional laptop and tablet.
It is the first ZenBook Flip model to feature Intel Core i7 and i5 processors. It measures just 13.9mm and weighs 1.3 kilograms and is available in mineral grey. Furthermore, it provides users with up to 12 hours of battery life.
The Asus ZenBook Flip UX360UA will be available from JB Hi-Fi, Bing Lee, Asus Shop and select channel partners starting from $1,699.
