Samsung will launch its latest premium smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7, in retail stores later this month. A water resistant body and S Pen (IP68), biometric authentication for added security, HDR video streaming capabilities and integration with a new Gear VR headset designed for the Note 7 USB Type-C connection, are among the array of features.

Commenting on the launch, Samsung Australia corporate vice president, Philip Newton said, “The Galaxy Note 7 is the ultimate in Samsung’s flagship range of premium smartphones. With its beautifully crafted metal and glass design, incredibly fast and intuitive functions, and water and dust resistance, the Note 7 will support the needs of the most demanding users.”

“Earlier this year in March, we unveiled the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, our most successful smartphone launch ever in this country. Australians have embraced the design, functionality, and experiences our range offers. We are so excited to bring the Galaxy Note 7 into our mobile offering, which includes a suite of Gear wearables, virtual reality technology, Samsung Pay, and more,” he said.

The Galaxy Note 7 will be available in Australia on August 19 from Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Samsung Retail and Samsung.com.au. The launch will also feature a pre-sale offer, where customers who pre-order the Galaxy Note 7 between August 5 and August 18 will receive a bonus Samsung 256GB MicroSD card valued at $299. It will be offered in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx.
