New Zealand second-hand car retailer, 2 Cheap Cars, has grown its workforce by 25% in the past year as it opens up new branches and picks up former Dick Smith staff. 2 Cheap Cars will open a new branch in Nelson on Saturday 27 August, which will bring the total car retailing network to 16 branches.

2 Cheap Cars CEO Eugene Williams (pictured) said it is an encouraging rate of growth for the car company and satisfying to see the workforce grow.

“We have further plans for growth, and getting the right people in place is crucial in order to deliver great customer service. We said at the time of Dick Smith going into receivership that we would look to offer jobs to out of work staff where we could. Our new branch manager in Wellington came to us from Dick Smith and he is doing a great job.”

As well as building its branch network up to 16 across the country, 2 Cheap Cars has increased its staff from 60 to 80 employees in the past year.
