Strong demand prior to launch.

Dyson has opened up Australian pre-orders for the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer to be launched into department stores from July 9. The hair dryer uses intelligent heat control to help protect hair from extreme heat damage, features a fast yet focused airflow, and is engineered for balance and is quieter than conventional hair dryers.

Commenting on the upcoming launch, Dyson ANZ managing director, Glenn Andrew said, “Globally, Dyson has invested $100 million in research and development making Dyson Supersonic the smartest hair dryer in the world with the use of our patented technology of intelligent heat control. We are confident that Dyson Supersonic will be a game changer in the category.”

A Myer spokesperson added, “There has been a lot of excitement around the launch of the Dyson Supersonic as it’s a truly innovative product that will revolutionise the hair care industry. Myer customers are keenly anticipating the product’s arrival and we are looking forward to unveiling the Dyson Supersonic at our national launch event on Saturday 9 July at Myer Melbourne.

“We are expecting this to be one of our biggest product launches for the year and we have already seen strong interest with our customers’ registering online to be amongst the first in Australia to get their hands on the Dyson Supersonic.”

Dyson Supersonic

The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has four heat settings, three airflow settings and a cold shot allowing users to achieve a range of different styles.

The Dyson engineered smoothing nozzle dries hair gently, using smooth, wide air, enabling users to dry and style at the same time. The diffuser has been designed to disperse air evenly around each curl to simulate natural drying, helping to reduce frizz and improve definition. The attachments have Heat Shield technology so the hot air is contained within a sandwich of cold air to keep the surfaces cool.

Dyson research has revealed that 50% of people define their hair as “extremely important” to their overall look and feel. The average woman owns 3.3 different styling appliances and 67% of Australians say that “must own” a hairdryer, with almost half (49%) using a hairdryer at least twice a week.

Retailing at $699, the Dyson Supersonic is now available to pre-order from www.dyson.com.au/supersonic.

On Saturday 9 July from midday, it will be exclusively sold in Myer, Melbourne City and David Jones, Elizabeth Street, Sydney.

From Sunday 10 July, it will be widely available from other selected Myer and David Jones stores, nationwide (and www.dyson.com.au/supersonic).
