Two global coffee players have joined forces.

Map Coffee is set to change the Australian coffee capsule marketplace landscape by partnering with Saeco to develop a new range of machines.

“We will be growing the capsule coffee market by providing industry leading coffee extraction technology, insights to satisfy consumer tastes and modern premium machines that complement Australian kitchens,” Tata Global Beverages senior brand manager, Beau Boundy said.

“We have created a new and profitable combination for our retailers and coffee consumers by sharing the revenue that is generated from coffee capsule sales after the machine leaves the store,” Boundy added.

Designed in Italy, the Bravista range of coffee capsule machines has been crafted to complement the modern kitchen where space is at a premium. Offering convenience and ease-of-use, users can adjust the height of the tray and spout to fit their favourite cup, and even save preferences such as coffee/milk length for added personalisation.

Map Coffee’s Caffitaly capsules deliver a double filtered, eight grams of espresso, in contrast to the 5.5 grams which are standard elsewhere to combine a barista-sized espresso shot and the sophisticated coffee extraction process.

Map Coffee also uses a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans to appeal to the specific tastes of the Australian market. Australia is a milk-based coffee drinking nation, and for this reason the blend of Arabica and Robusta beans in the coffee capsules best complement the flavour when combined with milk.

“Australians are some of the most discerning coffee drinkers in the world and we know there’s a real demand for a café quality coffee at home,” Tata Global Beverages Australia marketing director, Gale McLardie said.

“Those who have been searching for a coffee capsule machine which delivers a barista-sized eight gram espresso shot need look no further. Our new Bravista range combines the very best Map coffee with the expert brewing coffee-extraction technology from Saeco for a café quality coffee every time,” McLardie added.

The Bravista range of coffee capsule machines includes the Bravista Latte+ machine with an integrated 500ml milk carafe to make milk based coffees with one touch. The Bravista Espresso+ machine is a smaller sleek design espresso machine with a separate Saeco milk frother. Both machines feature Saeco’s patented milk frothing system.
