Appliance Retailer, owned by The Intermedia Group, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2016 with a new team and a refreshed digital and print offering.

The print and digital industry news service  has strengthened its editorial team with three new members following the departure of Editor, Patrick Avenell.

Intermedia managing director Simon Grover thanked Avenell for his  service.

We believe that the Appliance Retailer media brand, with its deep legacy in the Australian appliance industry, can continue to serve its readers with latest news, products, trends and technology for many years to come,” Grover said.

Founding editor returns

Heading the new team, as Editor, is Claire Moffat (pictured). Spanning a publishing career of more than 30 years, Claire has created and managed a number of leading magazines, electronic newsletters and websites across various industries. She was the founding Editor of Appliance Retailer in 1995, before launching the digital Connected News Service in 2000.

Kymberly Martin, former editor of Intermedia’s Counterpoint and Tech Trader, also brings 20 years of expertise in writing for appliance and technology publications into the new role of Features Editor

The latest addition to the Appliance Retailer team is Emily Bencic as Journalist. Emily has over two years’ experience in writing news for the consumer electronics and appliance industry from her reporting role at ConnectedAustralia.

Strong company support

Supporting the new team are two of Intermedia’s senior executives, James Wells former Appliance Retailer Editor, now Group Publisher and Rod Riley who has worked on Appliance Retailer for 20 years as General Manager, Sales.

This means that the full Appliance Retailer  team  boasts a remarkable  70 plus years of  consumer electronics and  media experience.

 “The addition of the digital expertise and understandings within the new editorial team, means that Appliance Retailer will be offering innovative solutions to meet the needs of our advertising clients to aid them in growing their businesses,”  Grover added.
