As well as appliances, the major exhibit categories will include 3D printing, wearables, new mobile devices and accessories, a small order zone and invention zone for innovative ideas waiting to be turned into commercial realities.

For retailers, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair is an opportunity to network and build relationships with international suppliers.

Pedro Jiménez commercial director of Spanish company Electrόnica de Consumo-1 makes the most of the Hong Kong fair as a buyer:

“In business for 32 years, we are an importer and wholesaler of consumer electronics in Spain. We visit the Hong Kong Electronics Fair twice a year because it is convenient for us to meet all our suppliers in one go and also to find some new suppliers. We have already placed US$350,000 worth of orders for speakers, smartphones, tablets, radios and alarm clocks. We have also found two to three potential suppliers and we are waiting for their quotations before confirming our orders.”
