Interesting yarn out of august New Zealand journal the Marlborough ExpressUnderCurrent was intrigued to read that across the ditch in Blenheim, at the northern tip of the South Island, a Harvey Norman customer has been chastised for losing his temper and stomping on a notebook computer.

Apparently this chap had taken his computer in for repairs and — the kind folk that Harvey Norman staff are — when a loaner model was presented to him, he threw it to the ground and stomped on it, causing $700 to $800 damage (that’s New Zealand dollars, by the way, so it could be the computer actually appreciated in value).

UnderCurrent was particularly amused buy the opprobrium handed down by the judging officer:

“Harvey Norman seems to be kind enough to loan you a laptop and it’s no way to treat this business who were clearly trying to help you.”
