Fisher & Paykel statement:

After 31 years with the company, Mike Church has resigned as chief operating officer, Australia and stepped down as a director of Fisher & Paykel Appliances.

“Australia is a significant global retail market for Fisher & Paykel and Mike’s contribution has been immense,” said Laurence Mawhinney, executive vice president sales & customer experience.

Mike Church began his career in New Zealand in 1982 where he was successful in a broad range of sales roles. In 1989 he was promoted to a senior sales position, which required him to move to Australia.

Mike held various senior sales positions within the business during its early years in Australia and in 2006 he was promoted to the chief operating officer role, where he played a crucial leadership role in securing the Fisher & Paykel brand in the Australian market and building relationships with retailers.

“In 1989, as part of a small inaugural ‘start-up’ team who pioneered Fisher & Paykel’s entry into the Australian retail sector, Mike was a pivotal member of this group who strengthened our foothold in the Australian market place.

“Australia is our largest sales market and Mike’s loyalty and his commitment to optimise growth opportunities and expand the business have been unwavering,” said Mawhinney.

“The respect for Fisher & Paykel and the expansion of our brand in the Australian market place is testimony to Mike’s leadership and we thank him sincerely for his contribution.”

Mark Pacey has been appointed to the position of Fisher & Paykel’s Chief Operations Officer, Australia effective immediately.

“Mark has been with Fisher & Paykel for 11 years and is held in high regard both internally and by our retail partners,” said  Mawhinney.

Mark joined Fisher & Paykel as a Sales Representative, becoming NSW State Manager and most recently General Manager, Sales.

“We know that Mark will bring the strong leadership of our team and brands that is required to be successful in today’s highly competitive environment,” said Mawhinney.
