IPSWICH: Retravision’s largest member — the $100 million RT Edwards family-owned retail business — has been sold to South Australian retailer Radio Rentals.

RT Edwards owns 11 Retravision branded electrical as well as three furniture stores in South-East Queensland located at Alderley, Beaudesert, Booval, Browns Plains, Garden City Shopping Centre, Gatton, Greenslopes, Ipswich, Logan Mega Centre and Macgregor.

The business also owns a purpose built commercial division in Moorooka, targeting homebuilders, a second hand Bargain Market store in Ipswich, a local bulk warehouse at Raceview in Ipswich, as well as an electrical and air conditioning installations and repairs business.

The business is run by managing director Tom Edwards, who is nearing retirement, and his four children, including his son Gary who is co-managing director. Tom’s youngest son Paul works as a mechanic, ensuring the company’s fleet of vehicles are maintained; daughter Suzanne works in the service division, liaising with customers to ensure their complete satisfaction; and youngest daughter Anne-Maree is employed as RT Edwards’ development manager, with a keen eye for future growth and expansion opportunities.
